MMTA Sponsored Events

Every year the MMTA provides funding and in-kind services to many community events around the Commonweath. If you are the organizer of a waterside or on-the-water event, please contact us for more information.

• Boston Antique & Classic Boat Festival [Every August] - Classic sailboats, powerboats and hand-powered craft will be on display to the public ranging from a 19th century canoe and steam launch to 1920a-30s era mahogany runabouts and cabin cruisers. The purpose of the Festival is to encourage owners of antique and classic craft to keep up their boats.
  

• Onset Poker Run - Local powerboats travel between various Buzzards Bay ports where they collect "cards" and play their hand back home. Proceeds to benefit the town of Onset and historical area.
  

• Celebrate Buzzards Bay, Coalition For Buzzards Bay - Sponsored by many local businesses to promote the well being and cleanliness of Buzzards Bay.
  

• Mattapoisett YMCA Waterfront Expo - Sponsored by local businesses to promote a growing local sailing program for area youth. Games, retail booths, nautical yard sale, sailing demos and launch rides.
  

• Duxbury Bay Maritime School - A non-profit sailing program to stimulate the values of leadership, self-reliance, sportsmanship, and respect for the environment.
  

• Green Harbor Tuna Club's Bluefish Tournament - In support of this fundraiser for the Special Olympics
  

• Lincoln Sailing Center - A non-profit organization teaching the youth of Hingham and surrounding communities to learn to sail and row at an early age.
